We report a case of an ectopic, extraspinal meningioma that appeared as a midline interscapular mass in a 13-year-old girl. The tumor involved the T-2 and T-3 spinous processes, but was dorsal to the lamina and was entirely extrinsic to the spinal canal. Large amounts of tumoral calcification and reactive hyperostosis were present, radiologically mimicking an osteogenic sarcoma.

Primary ectopic extradural and extraspinal meningiomas are rare. We present a unique case of this type of meningioma in the brachial plexus. A 25-year-old man consulted us because of neuropathic supraclavicular pain and the appearance of a supraclavicular mass whose volume had increased.

We report the case of a patient with spinal immature teratoma and cerebrospinal fluid leakage from the congenital dermal sinus tract. A 0-day-old female infant presented with a subcutaneous soft mass with a dimple in the lumbosacral region at birth. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a mixed low-intensity mass located in the extraspinal and intraspinal canal with a sinus tract.

Purpose: To calculate the frequencies of incidental extraspinal findings and incidentally detected congenital anomalies or anatomical differences in the lumbar spine on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of intervertebral discs.
Materials And Methods: A total of 379 lumbar spine MRI cases were prospectively investigated in the period spanning from August 2016 to January 2018. Both 1.

Primary extraspinal myxopapillary ependymoma (MPE) is an exceptionally rare lesion that is mainly located in the subcutaneous sacrococcygeal region. We describe the first case of MPE that presented as an intramuscular tumor mass located in the lumbar area. Absence of the visible connection with the spinal cord and lack of any other tumors in the reported case argue for the primary ectopic origin of the MPE.

Neuronal migration is a fundamental biological process that enables the precise positioning of neurons to form functional circuits. Cortical neurons migrate along glial scaffolds formed by radial glia guided by Reelin ligand. However, it is unclear whether the Reelin-directed behavior of radial glia is also critical for positioning the spinal neurons.
