Objective: This study aimed to describe organs and systems damages in persons after mass poisoning with thallium and show the results of treatment.
Methods: Forty-four persons (12 males and 32 females) with acute oral thallium poisoning were tested for thallium levels in blood and urine and examined by a toxicologist and a neurologist, and in some -cases, by a gynecologist, an ophthalmologist, and a psychiatrist. The objective of the present study was to elucidate the prevalence of various forms of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) among the patients with the complaints of dizziness who had applied for the medical aid. The secondary objective was to evaluate the effectiveness of the newly developed algorithm for the diagnostics and treatment of various forms of the disease. Background: Duloxetine was found safe and effective in the treatment of moderate to severe female stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in controlled clinical trials; complementary data from routine clinical practice are still wanted.
Objectives: To explore the use of various initial duloxetine doses by physicians in the treatment of female SUI in routine clinical practice and its implications on drug safety and patients' subjective impression of effectiveness.
Methods: Adult women treated with duloxetine for SUI symptoms were documented as part of an ongoing large-scale observational study in Germany.
