Sexually transmitted genital infections in women may affect the vulva, vagina, cervix and urethra, or more rarely the rectum. Proctitis, a common finding in surgical clinics, can be caused by sexually transmitted infections including gonococcal and chlamydial. This possibility should be considered by coloproctologists and general surgeons when sexually active young women present to them with relevant anorectal symptoms, particularly if the symptoms are of a relapsing nature. Unless specifically questioned, the patient may fail to see the relevance of a history of an anogenital infection. The case reported provides an example.

This study aims at investigating the dynamics of sexually transmitted infectious disease (STID), which is serious health concern. In so doing, the integer order STID model is progressed in to the time-delayed non-integer order STID model by introducing the Caputo fractional derivatives in place of integer order derivatives and including the delay factors in the susceptible and infectious compartments. Moreover, unique existence of the solution for the underlying model is ensured by establishing some benchmark results.

Background And Aims: Online dating applications (ODAs) are gaining popularity, raising concerns about their potential addictive effects on users' health. The main objective of this study was to investigate the association between problematic ODA use and mental health, substance use, and sexual behavior outcomes in men-who-have-sex-with-men (MSM). To achieve this, we first validated a German version of the Problematic ODA Use Scale (PODAUS), which assesses problematic ODA usage patterns.

Cervical cancer is the second most common malignancy among South African women and the load of abnormal cervical smears has clinical, programmatic and policy implications. This cross-sectional study of women who presented for cervical cancer screening aimed to determine the prevalence of abnormal cervical smears and associated factors in primary health care (PHC) facilities in Gauteng-the most densely populated province in South Africa. A questionnaire collected data on socio-demography, tobacco use, sexual behaviours, HIV status, past treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STI) and cervical cancer screening in the past 10 years.
