Granular cell tumors have been described in many sites throughout the body. To our knowledge, few cases have been described in the literature. We report here the sixth case, in which positivity for lysozyme was also observed for the first time. The problems of the histogenesis and differential diagnosis of this rare variant of basal cell carcinoma are also discussed.

Pleomorphic adenoma (PA) is the most common salivary gland tumour. Pre-operative fine-needle aspiration (FNA) is currently one of the most widely used cytological examination techniques for the diagnosis of salivary gland tumours. Because PA exhibits characteristic cytological features, cytological diagnosis is straightforward in most cases.

Enhancement of aerobic sludge granulation by quorum sensing signaling molecules mediated by biomimetic bacterial extracellular vesicles.

J Environ Manage

January 2025

Department of Environmental Engineering, College of Ecology and Environment, Nanjing Forestry University, Nanjing, 210037, China. Electronic address:

The addition of exogenous quorum sensing signaling molecules to the activated sludge system enables rapid sludge granulation. However, signaling molecules exposed to the environment are easily degraded, and their quorum sensing effects cannot be maintained in the long term. Therefore, they must be frequently added, which leads to an increase in operational costs.

The safety of a 2'--methoxyethyl antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) was investigated in Mauritius cynomolgus monkeys in a 41-week Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) toxicity study after multiple intrathecal (IT) administrations. Histopathological examination revealed ectopic formation of lymphoid follicles in the spinal cord (SC) at the injection site at all doses and the presence of granular material in neurons of the SC in high-dose animals. The granular material was seen in all the segments of the SC, but mainly in the lumbar segment and persisted at the end of the 26-week recovery period, while the lymphoid follicles showed a reversibility trend.

Testicular Torsion in a 14-Year-Old with Sertoli Cell Granular Cell Change and Sertoli Nodules.

Fetal Pediatr Pathol

January 2025

Department of Pathology, Louisiana State University Health Science Center and Children's Hospital of New Orleans, New Orleans Children's Hospital, New Orleans, LA, USA.

Sertoli eosinophilic granular change and Sertoli cell nodules are incidental findings. This details focal Sertoli eosinophilic granular and Sertoli cell only changes coincident with Sertoli cell nodules in a pubertal testis with acute torsion and bell clapper deformity. A 14-year-old with bell clapper deformity underwent orchiectomy for torsion.

Introduction: Systemic sclerosis is a complex disease characterized by the fibrosis and vasculopathy.

Aim: We aimed to assess scleroderma by examining involucrin, an early terminal differentiation marker of epidermal keratinocytes.

Material And Methods: Immunolocalization of involucrin was performed in healthy controls and patients with scleroderma lesions by using an immunofluorescence (IF) assay.
