Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a prevalent neurological disorder with a complex etiology, often associated with thyroid function. However, the causal relationship between these two conditions remains poorly understood. This study aimed to elucidate the causal relationship between thyroid function and MS using a bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) approach and to investigate the potential mediating role of immune cells.

Background And Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate whether a 6-month (limited) course of early IVIG is an effective strategy for relapse prevention in children with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) versus only acute therapies or other early immunotherapies.
Methods: This was a retrospective multicenter observational study of pediatric MOGAD patients from the US Network of Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis Centers with disease onset between October 1996 and December 2022. Controls were matched to limited early IVIG subjects using a 3:1 ratio.

Background: It is a fact that Multiple Sclerosis is a neurodegenerative disease with severe symptoms that make everyday life of patients difficult as it progresses. There are several types of treatments aimed at limiting and delaying the onset of its symptoms. Hippotherapy being an innovative method of intervention, supported by several studies on its positive effects on various neurological disorders, is now under the microscope with the aim of testing its impact on the clinical picture and the functioning of people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis.

Aim: To explore the need for a personal measure of cognitive decline (Personal Cognitive Decline, Personal-CD), in individuals with Pediatric Onset Multiple Sclerosis (POMS), focusing on declines relative to estimated previous abilities rather than the normative standards. We explored the significance of both Personal-CD, defined as a decline in cognitive performance relative to individual's estimated premorbid abilities, as well as Cognitive Impairment (CI), defined as performance below -1.5 SD of the normative means.

Multiple sclerosis is an inflammatory disease of the central nervous system (CNS), characterized by oligodendrocyte loss and demyelination of axons leading to neurodegeneration and severe neurological disability. Despite the existing drugs that have immunomodulatory effects an adequate therapy that slow down or stop neuronal death has not yet been found. Oxidative stress accompanied by excessive release of iron into the extracellular space, mitochondrial damage and lipid peroxidation are important factors in the controlled cell death named ferroptosis, latterly recognized in MS.
