The authors' investigations led them to the conclusion that skilled volleyball players' erythrocytes undergo adaptive metabolic rearrangement. There was also low hemoglobin affinity to oxygen. A single training load provoked the effect of metabolic enhancement as a result of increased red cell concentration of glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin and high activity of hexokinase.

Background: Rural School Support Strategies (RS3) is a bundle of implementation supports (including training, technical assistance, and a virtual learning collaborative) designed for the scale-up of universal prevention initiatives.
