Background: LIN28, a highly conserved RNA-binding protein, regulate a wide variety of post-transcriptional cellular processes. The current study aimed to identify genetic variants of five single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the LIN28B gene (rs221634, rs22163, rs314276, rs9404590, and rs12194974) and their association with Breast cancer.
Method: 220 patients and 230 controls were genotyped by the RFLP assay for Lin28B gene variants.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate loss to follow-up (LFU) rates within breast and cervical cancer screening programs in Kenitra-Morocco, identifying contributing factors from both patient and healthcare worker perspectives to enhance care continuity.
Methods: The study was a non-experimental, mixed-methods design conducted in three-phases. We started by identifying LFU women and their characteristics from medical records, interviewing LFU women to ascertain reasons for discontinuation, and surveying healthcare workers for perceived determinants of LFU through semi-structured questionnaires.

Background: Screening for breast cancer has been effective in decreasing mortality. Mammography is not readily available in resource-limited countries like India. The role of the electron transport chain (ETC) in cell proliferation control beyond its crucial function in supporting ATP generation has recently emerged. In this study, we found that, among the four ETC complexes, the complex I (CI)-mediated NAD regeneration is important for cancer cell proliferation. In cancer cells, a decrease in CI activity by RNA interference (RNAi) against NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase core subunit V1 (NDUFV1) arrested the cell cycle at the G/S phase, accompanying upregulation of p21 cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor expression.
