Background: Merkel cell (neuroendocrine) carcinoma (MCC) is a very aggressive primary cutaneous neoplasm most often occurring on the head and neck of the elderly. Spontaneous regression of MCC was first described in this journal in 1986. Since then, other such cases have been reported. This case represents the sixth case of spontaneous regression of MCC.

Objective: To describe to clinical course in a patient with MCC who underwent spontaneous regression of metastatic disease.

Methods: Clinical records including detailed history and frequent follow-up examination made this observation possible.

Results: Complete clinically evident regression of metastatic MCC was observed in this case. However, the patient received no treatment known to be effective for MCC.

Conclusions: Spontaneous regression of MCC has been documented. The reason for regression is unknown. Further study of these rare cases may in the future provide more answers than questions.

Spontaneous regression in breast cancer is rare but can dramatically improve patient prognosis. Although the underlying mechanism is unknown, it may be due to a biological response to external invasion. An 81-year-old woman presented to our emergency department with a 600x100mm large breast mass.

Objective: To study the correlation between anti-Müllerian hormone levels and pregnancy outcomes after in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection in women with polycystic ovary syndrome, which remains controversial.

Methods: This retrospective cohort study recruited 4,719 women with infertility and polycystic ovary syndrome aged 20-40 years who underwent treatment at the Reproductive Center of Peking University Third Hospital between February 2017 and June 2023. We divided the participants into three groups according to the 25th and 75th percentile cutoffs of serum anti-Müllerian hormone: low (≤ 4.

Background: Neuroblastoma, a prevalent extracranial solid tumor in pediatric patients, demonstrates significant clinical heterogeneity, ranging from spontaneous regression to aggressive metastatic disease. Despite advances in treatment, high-risk neuroblastoma remains associated with poor survival. SLC1A5, a key glutamine transporter, plays a dual role in promoting tumor growth and immune modulation.

Background: In the context of injectable biologic products approved or in development for chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), it is important to capture which treatment attributes matter most to patient and what trade-offs patients are willing to make.

Objectives: The CHOICE-CSU study aimed to quantify patient preferences toward injectable treatment attributes among patients with CSU, inadequately controlled by H1-antihistamines.

Methods: This was a two-phase cross-sectional patient preference study in adult patients with a diagnosis of CSU, inadequately controlled by H1-antihistamines.

Background: In acute coronary syndrome, ST-segment elevation in lead aVR (STE-aVR) indicates global myocardial ischemia, often related to multivessel or severe left main disease, and correlates with increased mortality. The prevalence and prognostic significance of STE-aVR in cardiac arrest (CA) patients is unknown.

Methods: We identified patients (≥18 years) with CA between 2011 to 2022 who achieved return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC).
