Forensic pathologists often encounter cases of acute subdural hematoma (SDH) due to trauma, whereas those attributable to endogenous causes are rare. Here, we report a case of the latter type in a 42-year-old man who was found dead at home after several months of fever and malaise. Postmortem computed tomography (PMCT) and autopsy were undertaken to clarify the cause of death.

Endogenous endophthalmitis (EE) accounts for approximately 2% to 8% of all cases of endophthalmitis. Candida albicans abscesses in the iris and ciliary body are a rare form of presentation, with only 3 cases reported up until now. The case is presented of a 27-year-old patient with an elevated lesion in the iris at the temporal zone of the left eye, with hypopyon, pupil membrane, and 4+ cells in the anterior chamber.

We report the case of a 68-year-old immunocompetent patient with a dilatation of the ascending aorta, intraluminal vegetations, and pseudoaneurysmatic bulging who presented with unilateral fungal endogenous endophthalmitis 8 days after coronary angiogram. The isolated pathogen resulted to be , a filamentous, yeast-like fungus that can be commonly found in normal human microflora, with an immunosuppression-related pathogenicity. A literature research revealed a single case of ophthalmic infection - a keratitis - caused by this pathogen.

A 70-year-old man presented with acute wrist pain concerning for septic arthritis. Shortly thereafter, he developed acute monocular vision loss and was diagnosed with endogenous endophthalmitis. Subsequent imaging revealed numerous visceral abscesses and a mycotic abdominal aortic aneurysm.
