The levels of succinate dehydrogenase (SDG), lactate dehydrogenase (LDG), glucose-6-phosphate-dehydrogenase (G-6-PDG), myeloperoxydase (MPO), glycogen and cationic proteins were determined in the neutrophilic granulocytes of peripheral blood of 79 rabbits after experimental contamination by endotoxin of S. typhi. The bactericidal system of neutrophils was stimulated due to the depression of SDG, activation of LDG and G-6-PDG levels. Administration of indometacinum and chlotasolum blockaded the cyclooxygenase fermentative system of prostaglandin synthesis and thus decreased the activity of S. typhi endotoxin.

Hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, low platelet count (HELLP) syndrome is a severe complication of preeclampsia (PE), with a higher incidence rate in people living at high altitudes, such as Tibet area. Maternal HELLP syndrome is associated with an elevated neonatal mortality rate. The purpose of this study was to investigate the predicting factors for neonatal outcomes with maternal HELLP syndrome.

Objective: The aim of this study was to examine the levels of hematologic parameters in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and transient ischemic attack (TIA) and to evaluate the use of Neutrophil/Lymphocyte ratio (NLR), Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index (SII), and systemic inflammation response index (SIRI) in the differentiation of AIS and TIA.
Materials And Methods: Data and hematological results of patients admitted to the emergency department and diagnosed with AIS and TIA were compared retrospectively.
Results: The study included 36 TIA patients (M/F = 15/21) with a mean age of 64.

Introduction: The innate immune response is an important first checkpoint in the evolution of an infection. Although adaptive immunity is generally considered the immune component that retains antigenic memory, innate immune responses can also be affected by previous stimulations. This study evaluated the impact of vaccination on innate cell activation by TLR7/8 agonist R848, as well as seasonal variations.

Introduction: Diesel exhaust particles (DEP) have been proven to aggravate asthma pathogenesis. We previously demonstrated that concurrent exposure to house dust mite (HDM) and DEP in mice increases both eosinophils and neutrophils in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and also results in higher levels of neutrophil-recruiting chemokines and neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation compared to sole HDM, sole DEP or saline exposure. We aimed to evaluate whether treatment with anti-IL-5 can alleviate the asthmatic features in this mixed granulocytic asthma model.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients have varying degrees of cognitive impairment, but the specific pathogenic mechanism is still unclear. Meanwhile, poor compliance with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) in OSA prompts better solutions. This study aimed to identify differentially expressed genes between the non-obese OSA patients and healthy controls, and to explore potential biomarkers associated with cognitive impairment.
