We report a case of isolated dural metastasis from colon cancer. Neuroradiologic and intraoperative findings indicated that the tumor was extra-axial, and histopathologic examination resulted in the correct diagnosis. Notable neuroradiologic findings of the present dural-based tumor were: diploic fat MRI signal disappeared in the tumor associated calvaria where bony change was absent on bone-window CT; abnormal subgaleal and epidural tissues were seen on MRI, both of which contained clusters of adenocarcinoma cells histopathologically. These findings suggest an infiltrative, malignant character, and help to differentiate between benign and malignant dural-based tumors.

Background And Purpose: Symptoms indistinguishable from behavioral-variant frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD) can develop in patients with spontaneous intracranial hypotension associated with severe brain sagging. An underlying spinal CSF leak can be identified in only a minority of these patients and the success rate of nondirected treatments, such as epidural blood patching and dural reduction surgery, is low. The disability associated with bvFTD sagging brain syndrome is high and, because of the importance of the venous system in the pathophysiology of CSF leaks in general, we have investigated the systemic venous circulation in those patients with recalcitrant symptoms.

Objective: Cerebral blood flow (CBF) decline is increasingly recognized as an area of importance for targeting neurodegenerative disorders, yet full understanding of the mechanisms that underlie CBF changes are lacking. Animal models are crucial for expanding our knowledge as methods for studying global CBF and neurovascular coupling in humans are limited and require expensive specialized scanners.
Methods: Use of appropriate animal models can increase our understanding of cerebrovascular function, so we have combined chronic cranial windows with in vivo two-photon and laser speckle microscopy and ex vivo capillary-parenchymal arteriole (CaPA) preparations.

Background: Post-laminectomy syndrome (PLS) manifests as recurrent chronic back pain, with or without radiating leg pain, affecting 10-40% of patients following laminectomy. While surgical interventions can alleviate recurrent disc herniation or joint instability, medical management of PLS remains challenging due to unsatisfactory outcomes. Epidural fibrosis is a frequent cause of PLS, leading to nerve root tethering and dural sac compression.
