Formation of ternary complexes between Gd-DTPA, Gd-DTPA-BMA, and Gd-DOTA, used as contrast enhancement agents in MRI and the endogenously available carbonate and phosphate ions, has been demonstrated. The extent of ternary complex formation and its effect on the proton relaxation, measured at 9 MHz, rates is negligible at around pH < 8. The complex Gd-EDTA forms more stable ternary complexes with carbonate and phosphate and it also strongly coordinates the terdentate citrate ligand. The formation of ternary complexes Gd-EDTA(X) (X = CO3(2-), Cit3-) results in a significant decrease in the proton relaxation rates under physiological conditions.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are hybrid inorganic-organic 3D coordination polymers with metal sites and organic linkers, which are a "hot" topic in the research of sorption, separations, catalysis, sensing, and environmental remediation. In this study, we explore the molecular mechanism and kinetics of interaction of the new copper porphyrin aluminum metal-organic framework (actAl-MOF-TCPPCu) compound with a vapor of the volatile organic sulfur compound (VOSC) diethyl sulfide (DES). Botulinum neurotoxins (BoNTs), ricin, and many other biological toxins are called AB toxins possessing heterogeneous A and B subunits. We propose herein a quick and safe sensing approach to AB toxins based on their unique quaternary structures. This study investigates the structural and dynamic properties of ternary mixtures composed of NaPF, ethylene carbonate (EC), and the ionic liquid choline glycine (ChGly), with a focus on their potential as electrolytes for supercapacitors. The combination of NaPF-EC, known for its high ionic conductivity, with the biodegradable and environmentally friendly ChGly offers a promising approach to enhancing electrolyte performance. Through molecular simulations, we analyze how the inclusion of small concentrations of ChGly affects key properties such as density, cohesive energy, and ion mobility.
