This study reports the results of a long-term evaluation of conical crown-retained dentures. One hundred fifty-two restorations that had been in place for over 10 years were analyzed. Restorations were divided according to the Kennedy classification. Abutment and periodontal health, occlusion, retention, and frequency of relining and repair were among the factors evaluated. Good prognoses of removable partial dentures were shown in Kennedy Classes I, II, and III arches. However, some of the restorations placed on only a few remaining abutments showed rather unfavorable situations with almost all of the factors evaluated.

A 55-year-old man wearing maxillary and mandibular clasp-retained removable partial dentures (RPDs) sought improvement in retention, support, mastication efficiency, and esthetics. Three prosthodontic treatment options were provided to the patient, who selected maxillary and mandibular conical crown-retained removable partial dentures (CCRPDs) without strategic implants. Oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) and satisfaction of the patient were evaluated before treatment and 2 weeks and 1 year after inserting the CCRPDs.

Method and materials: A search was conducted in the Ovid MEDLINE, Embase, Web of Science databases, and a manual search. The search was conducted based on the PICO framework with inclusion and exclusion criteria.

Objective: To verify the hypotheses that treatment with double-crown-retained removable partial dentures (RPDs) improves oral health-related quality-of life (OHRQoL) over a 36-month period and that the performance of RPDs retained by use of electroplated double crowns (EP-RPDs) was different to that of RPDs retained by use of cast double crowns (C-RPDs).
Materials And Methods: Fifty-four patients (mean age = 64 years, 63% men) were recruited and randomly assigned to C-RPD or EP-RPD. OHRQoL was assessed pre-treatment, post-treatment and 6, 12, 24 and 36 months after insertion, by use of the oral health impact profile (OHIP).

Statement Of Problem: Research data are scarce on double-crown-retained removable dental prostheses. In double-crown-retained removable dental prostheses, crown-like copings are definitively cemented to the abutment teeth and serve as prosthesis attachments.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the survival of double-crown-retained removable dental prostheses in use for 7 years and to determine their most common complications.

Purpose: This study evaluated the recall attendance and maintenance for a patient population after prosthodontic treatment in undergraduate student courses.
Materials And Methods: Four hundred ninety-three patients who received fixed restorations (FRs; crowns or fixed partial dentures) or removable partial dentures (RPDs; conical crown-retained or precision attachment-retained dental prostheses) were included in a recall program. The number of patients attending regularly scheduled follow-up visits every 6 months was recorded.
