Coronary artery vasospasm (CAV) is characterized by transient constriction of epicardial coronary arteries leading to angina. Its disease mechanisms are multifactorial but has centered mostly on endothelial dysfunction and smooth muscle hyperreactivity. To facilitate the investigation of these mechanisms in cell culture, we generated and characterized three induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines from patients with CAV.

Background: Coronary thrombosis events continue to be the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Recently, emerging evidence has highlighted the role of gut microbiota in cardiovascular disease, but few studies have systematically investigated the gut microbiota variation associated with atherothrombosis.
Methods: We conducted multi-omics analysis (metagenomics sequencing and serum metabolomics) on 146 subjects from Peking Union Medical College Hospital-Coronary Artery Disease (PUMCH-CAD) cohort.

Objective: Patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD) undergo lower extremity revascularization (LER) for symptomatic relief or limb salvage. Despite LER, patients remain at increased risk of platelet-mediated complications, such as major adverse cardiac and limb events (MACLEs). Platelet activity is associated with cardiovascular events, yet little is known about the dynamic nature of platelet activity over time.

Platelet inhibitors are of interest in CVD treatment to reduce thrombus formation post-plaque rupture as well their contribution to inflammation throughout the progression of atherosclerosis. Protease activated receptor 4 (PAR4) is a receptor highly expressed by platelets, strongly activated by thrombin, and plays a vital role in platelet activation and aggregation.
