The radiological appearance of atherosclerotic popliteal artery aneurysms: the "dog-leg" sign.

J Cardiovasc Surg (Torino)

Department of Vascular Surgery, Dundee Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, England.

Published: April 1997

The radiological appearance of popliteal aneurysms is described. Althought the lumen of the artery is often of normal diameter there is elongation of the vessel which frequently results in an acute "dog-leg". This sign has not been previously described.

Introduction: Bladder and bowel dysfunction (BBD) is a commonly experienced disorder that can cause adverse physical and psychological impacts on a child and their family.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the yield of clinically significant sensitive genitourinary (GU) examination findings and whether findings influence BBD management.

Methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive, correlational research design was used to study the relationship between GU examination findings and management of pediatric BBD.

Department of Radiology, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, PR China. Electronic address:

Congenital extrahepatic portosystemic shunt, also known as Abernethy malformation, is a rare anatomic vascular malformation. Patients with Abernethy malformation may present with abdominal pain, abnormal liver function tests, hepatopulmonary syndrome, pulmonary hypertension, and/or portosystemic encephalopathy. Accurate identification of the shunt and portal vein and effective management of complications is vital in these patients.

Rationale And Objectives: Recently, the Response Evaluation Using PSMA PET/CT in Patients with Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer (RECIP 1.0) was proposed to better evaluate treatment response in prostate cancer patients using PET/CT with prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) than more traditional approaches like metabolic PET evaluation response criteria in solid tumor (PERCIST 1.0).

Background: Non-invasiveness and comfort are crucial in the conservative management of distal radius and scaphoid fractures. While fiberglass casts are standard, three-dimensional (3D)-printed orthoses offer a promising alternative.

Purpose: To compare patient experiences, safety perceptions, and satisfaction between a 3D orthosis and fiberglass cast for distal radius or scaphoid fractures.

A foundation model with weak experiential guidance in detecting muscle invasive bladder cancer on MRI.

Cancer Lett

Department of Radiology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, P.R. China, 210029; The Affiliated Suqian First People's Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, Suqian, Jiangsu Province, China. Electronic address:

Preoperative detection of muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) remains a great challenge in practice. We aimed to develop and validate a deep Vesical Imaging Network (ViNet) model for the detection of MIBC using high-resolution Tweighted MR imaging (hrTWI) in a multicenter cohort. ViNet was designed using a modified 3D ResNet, in which, the encoder layers were pretrained using a self-supervised foundation model on over 40,000 cross-modal imaging datasets for transfer learning, and the classification modules were weakly supervised by an experiential knowledge-domain mask indicated by a nnUNet segmentation model.
