Estimates of variance components were obtained with method R for several additive and dominance models. The data included 301,960 records for first parity and 280,040 records for later parities of Holsteins. The single-record model included effects of management, regression on inbreeding percentage, age at calving, stage of lactation, and additive and dominance effects. The repeatability model included these effects in addition to permanent environment. For the single-record model, estimates were 46% of the total variance for additive variance, 12% of total variance for dominance variance, and -0.06 for the regression coefficient on inbreeding. In the repeatability model, the variance for permanent environment was estimated at 5%; other estimates were similar. When the dominance effect was eliminated, the estimate of the variance for permanent environment increased to 17% for the repeatability model. Elimination of stage of lactation increased regression on inbreeding to 0.09 and the estimate of dominance variance to 17% in the single-record model. The same change increased the estimate of additive variance to 64% for the repeatability model. Elimination of regression on inbreeding or stage of lactation had a small effect on the estimates. The presence or absence of the dominance effect had little influence on additive variance. In the absence of dominance, the estimate of the permanent environment effect included the dominance effect. Estimates of variances with method R are very sensitive to age adjustments. With the adjustments, the estimates of the dominance and additive variances are consistent.

Integrated Care (IC) models have increased, but the current mechanisms to analyze the efficacy and fidelity of behavioral interventions within IC models are limited. A mixed methods concurrent process evaluation was used within the context of a randomized clinical trial to assess intervention fidelity for a Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) intervention implemented within an IC model. A qualitative content analysis was conducted to develop a participant survey and charting template for the SFBT intervention.

The ICH E9 addendum on estimands in clinical trials provides a framework for precisely defining the treatment effect that is to be estimated, but says little about estimation methods. Here, we report analyses of a clinical trial in type 2 diabetes, targeting the effects of randomized treatment, handling rescue treatment and discontinuation of randomized treatment using the so-called hypothetical strategy. We show how this can be estimated using mixed models for repeated measures, multiple imputation, inverse probability of treatment weighting, G-formula, and G-estimation.

Purpose: Feeding plates for cleft palate patients have been used by clinicians for many years to temporarily close the oro-nasal communication until definitive treatment with surgical techniques. The current in vitro study aimed to evaluate the adaptation of the feeding plates manufactured by two different techniques for three cleft types.
Materials And Methods: Feeding plates were manufactured with conventional compression molding (CM) and 3-dimensional (3D) additive manufacturing on main models representing bilateral cleft, unilateral right, and unilateral left cleft types (n = 10).

The trans-vessel wall device (TW-device) is a new endovascular tool for precise and safe delivery of various payloads (cells, viral, modified RNA, chemotherapy, growth factors) in oncology and regenerative medicine. The twofold aim of this study was to assess cell engraftment and tumor growth using the TW-device for endovascular transplantation and to evaluate its ability to directly access solid tumors. We used the VX2 model in the rabbit kidney to compare percutaneously implanted fresh VX2 cells with TW-device injections of cryopreserved VX2 cells.
