This study examined the relationship between gallstones and estimated glucose disposal rate (eGDR) in people in the United States and the possible mediating function of body mass index (BMI). Data came from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), conducted between 2017 and March 2020. Logistic regression, subgroup analysis, smoothed curve fitting, and causal mediation studies were among the statistical techniques used to examine the participant data.

Biliary strictures, which are common in the first year after pediatric liver transplantation, are diagnosed and managed with percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography. In children undergoing percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography, early cholangitis is the most common complication while typical catheter-related complications are obstruction, dislodgement, kinking, or fracture. This case report discusses the unique presentation and management of a 5-year-old girl with an incidental percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage-associated extrahepatic gallstone formation following treatment of biliary stricture after pediatric liver transplantation.

Background: Gallstone disease (GSD) is a prevalent gastrointestinal disorder, few studies have examined the combined effects of dietary and lifestyle factors on GSD. This study aims to investigate the relationship between oxidative balance score (OBS) and GSD, and explores the potential mediating role of oxidative stress.
Methods: Cross-sectional data from 6,196 participants in the NHANES 2017-2020 were analyzed.
