Objective: We aim to report a novel surgical technique that RATS combined with nonintubated spontaneous ventilation to perform tracheal/airway surgery.
Summary Of Background Data: Our team has demonstrated video-assisted transthoracic surgery can be used for thoracic tracheal diseases with satisfactory outcomes. Our team has also demonstrated that tracheal/airway resection and reconstruction under spontaneous ventilation can improve the anastomosis and operating time.

In the operating room, unanticipated difficult intubation can occur and anesthesiologists can experience challenging situations. Undiagnosed tracheal stenosis caused by congenital factors, trauma, tumors, or post-intubation injury, can make advancing the endotracheal tube difficult. We present an adult patient in whom we were unable to pass an endotracheal tube into the trachea.

Background: Slide tracheoplasty has become the surgical technique of choice for repair of congenital tracheal stenosis. Despite the initial reluctance regarding the ability of this "reconstructed" trachea to grow, the reduced morbidity and mortality have allowed slide tracheoplasty to be widely adopted. The aim of this study was to evaluate tracheal growth after slide tracheoplasty.
