Background: Angiosarcomas are uncommon soft tissue neoplasms with a predilection for skin and superficial soft tissues.
Cases: Two cases of angiosarcoma occurred at unusual sites, the parotid gland and lung. The parotid lesion was characterized by malignant cells present singly, in loose groups, in tight three-dimensional aggregates and in acinar formation initially misinterpreted as an adenocarcinoma. The lung mass showed malignant cells in association with vascular endothelium, suggestive of angiosarcoma. Both cases were negative for Ulex europaeus and Factor VIII-related protein but demonstrated strong immunopositivity for CD31, a highly specific endothelial marker.
Conclusion: In the absence of vasoformative structures, important diagnostic pitfalls are pseudovascular adenoid squamous cell carcinoma, poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma, melanoma and lymphoma. Immunocytochemical studies and clinical history are essential to the correct diagnosis.

Ectopic breast tissue (EBT) represents a congenital anomaly caused by incomplete regression of mammary ridges at the time of embryonic development. Typically, EBT presents along the mammary line, although usually in the axillary region, it has been located occasionally in unusual sites such as the vulva. Though relatively rare, it is generally subject to a wide range of pathologies that afflict normal breast tissue, encompassing both benign and malignant transformations.

Centromochlus heckelii has the lowest diploid chromosome number (2n = 46) and the only described heteromorphic sex chromosome system in Auchenipteridae. This study presents a population of C. heckelii from the Central Amazon basin with subtle variations in the karyotype composition and a variant W chromosome with distinct morphology and increased C-positive heterochromatin content.

In filamentous fungi, some NLRs mediate heterokaryon incompatibility, a self/non-self recognition process that prevents the vegetative fusion of genetically distinct individuals, reducing the risk of parasitism. The and NLRs in are highly polymorphic incompatibility genes ( genes) whose products recognize different alleles of the gene via a sensor domain composed of WD40 repeats.

Enthesitis related arthritis (ERA) is a specific type of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and ERA typically begins with enthesitis and peripheral arthritis in the lower extremities, progressing later in the disease to sacroiliitis and spinal involvement. The condition has a strong relationship with the HLA-B27 and primarily affects boys between the ages of 13 and 16 years. We describe an unusual presentation of ERA in a young boy with pubic pain and fever, describing its quintessential magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings.

Introduction: Cobalamin deficiency (CD) due to pernicious anemia (PA) leads to hyperhomocystinemia, a risk factor for thrombosis. However, the clinical presentations and outcomes of hyperhomocystinemia-associated thrombosis (HAT) are not fully understood.
Methods: We undertook a literature search using PUBMED, SCOPUS and WEB OF SCIENCE databases for the terms "pernicious anemia AND thrombosis", "pernicious anemia AND embolism", "pernicious anemia AND thromboembolism", "autoimmune gastritis AND thrombosis", "autoimmune gastritis AND embolism", "autoimmune gastritis AND thromboembolism" through January 2024 and reviewed the published literature.
