Birds of the partially inbred G-B1 chicken line can be classified as either high or low responders to Con A, on the basis of the amount of 3H-thymidine incorporated by Con A-containing cultures of their peripheral blood leukocytes. The pattern of inheritance of the high and low responder traits suggests that the variation in response is due to genetic polymorphism at a single autosomal locus. However, the allele responsible for the low responder trait of the G-B1 line is not identical to the allele of the previously described Mr1 locus carried by the inbred low responder CC line, since (CC x G-B1 low responder)F1 birds are uniformly high responders to Con A. The responses to Con A of mixtures of CC and G-B1 low responder cells are not significantly higher than the responses of either component of the mixture alone. Thus, the gene products responsible for the complementation observed in F1 hybrids cannot complement extracellularly, and are not readily transferable from one cell to another.

Objectives: Fundoscopy is crucial in the emergency department to identify or rule out serious ocular and neurological conditions. Despite its clinical importance, fundoscopy is often omitted due to the technical challenges associated with traditional direct ophthalmoscopy, particularly for non-ophthalmologists. This study examines emergency physicians' practices, confidence levels, and training related to various modalities of fundoscopy including traditional direct ophthalmoscopes, binocular indirect ophthalmoscopes, panoptic ophthalmoscopes, slit lamp fundoscopy and fundus cameras; and explores the potential role of alternative modalities, such as fundus cameras, in Canadian emergency departments.

Introduction: Bladder and bowel dysfunction (BBD) is a commonly experienced disorder that can cause adverse physical and psychological impacts on a child and their family.
Objective: This study aimed to assess the yield of clinically significant sensitive genitourinary (GU) examination findings and whether findings influence BBD management.
Methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive, correlational research design was used to study the relationship between GU examination findings and management of pediatric BBD.
Background: The evaluation and management of insect sting allergy is a complex core competency taught in Allergy and Immunology fellowship programs. It is unclear if current training on insect allergy is sufficient to meet the needs of the field, and what training barriers exist.
Objective: To investigate the extent of training on stinging insect allergy, and factors currently impacting stinging insect allergy clinical practice through a pilot needs-assessment survey.

Objectives: Improving quality of care for individuals with substance-related disorders (SRD) should be a priority considering SRD are associated with high morbidity. This study aimed to identify classes of individuals with SRD based on their clinical characteristics and the quality of outpatient care they received, and to verify whether better quality of care was associated with other respondent characteristics and more favorable subsequent outcomes.
Methods: Data came from the 2023-14 and 2015-16 Canadian Community Health Survey (N = 42,099), merged with administrative data from Quebec's health insurance registry.

Spirituality is widely recognized as a potential moderator of the adverse effects of hemodialysis on mental health. Understanding its impact on mental health in Saudi Arabia and the Arab world, however, remains a significant research gap. Hence, this study aims to explore the correlations between spirituality, anxiety, and depression among Saudi Arabian patients undergoing hemodialysis.
