Purpose: While early diagnosis is crucial, as new treatments can significantly slow the progression of the disease, there is growing evidence on the application of novel imaging techniques for detecting transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR) in pre-symptomatic stages. This study aimed to evaluate the utility of pre-symptomatic scintigraphic imaging cascade screening for early detection of ATTR.
Methods: During the period from 2020 to 2024, we conducted a prospective study that enrolled 100 consecutive adults.

Post-infarction heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) patients often face persistent risks of sudden cardiac arrest leading to sudden cardiac death. While implanting a cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) can enhance prognosis, complications and costs limit its widespread use. Current patient qualification criteria, relying on imperfect parameters, require refinement.

Background: Pulmonary micro-aspiration (PMA) is a feared complication of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GORD). A novel scintigraphic test for GORD has been developed and validated. It can demonstrate contamination of the upper and lower airways by refluxate.

Background: Pheochromocytoma, or paraganglioma (PPGL), is a tumor that arises from catecholamine-producing chromaffin cells of the adrenal medulla or paraganglion. Systemic therapy, such as the combination of cyclophosphamide, vincristine, and dacarbazine or therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals such as [131I] meta-iodobenzylguanidine (MIBG), may be administered in cases of locally advanced tumors or distant metastases. However, the current therapies are limited in terms of efficacy and implementation.

Objective: Tc-99m N-pyridoxyl-5-methyl-tryptophan (PMT) hepatobiliary scintigraphy has high diagnostic performance for biliary atresia. Our hospital implements standard Tc-99m PMT administration followed by a 6 h static imaging review; booster doses are given in cases requiring 24 h delayed scans. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of this method.
