Cardiovascular complications claim the lives of up to 70% of patients with diabetes mellitus (DM). The mechanisms increasing cardiovascular risk in DM remain to be fully understood and successfully addressed. Epilepsy is a prevalent chronic neurological disorder that can significantly impact patients' lives. The incidence and risk of psychosis in individuals with epilepsy are notably higher than in the general population, adversely affecting both the management and rehabilitation of epilepsy and further diminishing patients' quality of life. This review provides an overview of the classification and clinical features of psychosis of epilepsy, with the aim of offering insights and references for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of various types of psychosis of epilepsy.

This gene and protein are expressed in various tissues and cells and is predominantly expressed in human liver, kidney, and adrenal tissues. : Medication-overuse headache (MOH) is a disabling condition affecting patients with chronic migraine resulting from excessive use of acute headache medication. It is characterized by both pain modulation and addiction-like mechanisms involving the brainstem raphe, a region critical to serotonergic signaling. This study investigates whether alterations in the brainstem raphe, assessed via transcranial sonography (TCS), are associated with MOH and independent of depressive symptoms, aiming to explore their utility as a biomarker.

Postoperative neurocognitive dysfunction (PND) is a prevalent and debilitating complication in elderly surgical patients, characterized by persistent cognitive decline that negatively affects recovery and quality of life. As the aging population grows, the rising number of elderly surgical patients has made PND an urgent clinical challenge. Despite increasing research efforts, the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying PND remain inadequately characterized, underscoring the need for a more integrated framework to guide targeted interventions.
