Introduction: There are several options for receiving acute care besides emergency departments (ED), such as primary care physician (PCP) offices, urgent care centers (UCC), and telehealth services. It is unknown whether these alternative modes of care have decreased the number of ED visits for patients or whether they are considered before visiting the ED. A comprehensive study considering all potential methods of care is needed to address the evolving landscape of healthcare.

The genomic diversity of a parasite population is shaped by its transmission dynamics but superinfection, cotranmission and recombination make this relationship complex and hard to analyse. This paper aims to simplify the problem by introducing the concept of a genomic transmission graph with three basic parameters: the effective number of hosts, the quantum of transmission and the crossing rate of transmission chains. This enables rapid simulation of coalescence times in a recombining parasite population with superinfection and cotransmission, and it also provides a mathematical framework for analysis of within-host variation.

Prior observations of persistent public misconceptions and negative beliefs surrounding palliative care have led to extensive calls for public education on palliative care. Yet, the development of effective initiatives to improve public perceptions of palliative care is still hindered by a lack of research providing a deeper, contextualized understanding of the way people perceive and give meaning to palliative care. This study therefore set out to explore patterns of shared meaning across personal narratives surrounding experiences with palliative care, serious illness, and the end of life.

Objective: The study aims to investigate public opinion on opt-out organ donation registration in Saudi Arabia, addressing a gap identified in existing research that reveals varied attitudes and intentions among the population, as indicated by studies in Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
Methods: This study employed a secondary analysis approach, utilizing data from a cross-sectional survey conducted online among 1397 residents of Saudi Arabia. The survey utilized a GoogleTM form questionnaire adapted from a previous study in Qatar.
