The recent discovery of nitric oxide (NO) and the elucidation of its biological roles has been accompanied by significant advances in our understanding of several physiological and pathological processes. Impaired NO synthesis and/or release may underlie the pathophysiology of several cardiopulmonary disorders characterised by hypoxemia and pulmonary hypertension. Inhaled NO produces selective pulmonary vasodilation and appears to be an effective new therapy for infants with pulmonary vasospasm or hypoxemia associated with ventilation-perfusion imbalance. Although formal reports from current randomised and controlled clinical trials of inhaled NO therapy are awaited, preliminary results suggest an improved outcome. NO is, however, still an investigational drug. The limitations of this therapy and its toxicology are reviewed.

The article titled "Role of the Maneuver in Sinusitis and Eustachian Tube Dysfunction" explores the efficacy of a novel technique known as the Maneuver. Sinusitis and Eustachian tube dysfunction are prevalent respiratory conditions often linked to impaired mucociliary flow and poor nasal clearance. Traditional maneuvers such as the Toynbee and Valsalva techniques provide temporary relief by forcefully opening the Eustachian tube but carry risks of injury and complications and does not work for sinusitis.

Purpose: To investigate whether Impulse Oscillometry (IOS) could more effectively monitor children with uncontrolled asthma and evaluate small airway function changes, while establishing a prediction model in combination with fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) to assist in clinical management and treatment of asthmatic children.
Patients And Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 203 asthmatic children who were followed up in our hospital from August 2023 to August 2024. Patients were divided into controlled asthma group (n=80) and uncontrolled asthma group (n=123).
