This paper discusses results from a project which aims to document the maternity hospital practices in istanbul within the context of Ten Steps for Successful Breastfeeding. Instruments developed for use in hospital level implementation of the WHO/UNICEF baby friendly hospital initiative were used in five hospitals (two public and three private). No hospital was implementing all Ten Steps. A core hospital team on lactation management and a sufficient number of health personnel skillful in breastfeeding counselling and adequate delivery room conditions are required to implement the Ten Steps. It is very difficult to provide these conditions in public hospitals with an excessive patient load. On the other hand, the fee for service system and the policy of changing practices according to the wishes of the clients can also become barriers to successful breastfeeding, as may occur in some private hospitals.

Design Criteria for Active and Selective Catalysts in the Nitrogen Oxidation Reaction.

ACS Phys Chem Au

University of Duisburg-Essen, Faculty of Chemistry, Theoretical Catalysis and Electrochemistry, Universitätsstraße 5, Essen 45141, Germany.

The direct conversion of dinitrogen to nitrate is a dream reaction to combine the Haber-Bosch and Ostwald processes as well as steam reforming using electrochemistry in a single process. Regrettably, the corresponding nitrogen oxidation (NOR) reaction is hampered by a selectivity problem, since the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is both thermodynamically and kinetically favored in the same potential range. This opens the search for the identification of active and selective NOR catalysts to enable nitrate production under anodic reaction conditions.

This study evaluated transcatheter approach for relieving right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) obstruction using combined non-compliant balloon dilatation of the RVOT and conal artery occlusion in patients with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), both uncorrected and post-intra-cardiac repair (ICR) restenosis. A prospective study was conducted from January 2022 to June 2023, including 40 symptomatic patients aged over 12 years with RVOT obstruction in TOF. Exclusion criteria included moderate to severe pulmonary regurgitation.

Introduction: Excision and primary anastomosis (EPA) urethroplasty is the standard treatment for traumatic urethral strictures, but managing them remains challenging for urologists. Identifying factors leading to EPA urethroplasty failure benefits both patients and surgeons. This study aims to analyze risk factors for urethral stricture recurrence after one-year follow-up of EPA urethroplasty.

Background: Few studies have explored the association between DNA methylation and physical activity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the association of objectively measured hours of sedentary behavior (SB) and moderate physical activity (MPA) with DNA methylation. We further aimed to explore the association between SB or MPA related CpG sites and cardiometabolic traits, gene expression, and genetic variation.
