The hydrogel adhesives with strong tissue adhesion and biological characteristics adhm202404447are urgently needed for injury sealing and tissue repair. However, the negative correlation between tissue adhesion and the mechanical strength poses a challenge for their practical application. Herein, a bio-inspired cohesive enhancement strategy is developed to prepare the hydrogel adhesive with simultaneously enhanced mechanical strength and tissue adhesion.

Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC), a formidable challenge in oncology, demands innovative biomarkers and therapeutic targets. This research highlights the importance of the circular RNA (circRNA) circPCSK6 and its peptide derivative circPCSK6-167aa in ICC. CircPCSK6 is significantly downregulated in both ICC patients and mouse primary ICC models, and its lower expression is linked to adverse prognosis, highlighting its pivotal role in ICC pathogenesis.

Renal fibrosis is a common pathway involved in the progression of various chronic kidney diseases to end-stage renal disease. Recent studies show that mitochondrial injury of renal tubular epithelial cells (RTECs) is a crucial pathological foundation for renal fibrosis. However, the underlying regulatory mechanisms remain unclear.

MUSTN1 Interaction With SMPX Regulates Muscle Development and Regeneration.

Pigs are important agricultural animals whose growth rate and meat production performance are related to muscle development. Musculoskeletal embryonic nuclear protein 1 (MUSTN1) participates in various biological processes, including myogenesis and growth in animals, but the physiological functions and mechanisms of porcine MUSTN1 on muscle development are unclear; thus, we aimed to elucidate them. We found that MUSTN1 was highly expressed in the muscles of fast-growing pigs.

The aberrant upregulation of Yes-associated protein 1 (YAP1) in a variety of solid cancers contributes to tumor progression and poor clinical outcomes, rendering it an appealing therapeutic target. However, effective therapies to directly target YAP1 remain challenging. In this study, we perform a high-throughput screening and identify Casein kinase II (CK2) as an uncharacterized upstream regulator of YAP1 turnover in cancer cells of ovarian cancer and several other cancer types.
