The biochemical characters of eight strains identified as Citrobacter sedlakii were investigated with the aid of six methods (tube tests, API 50 CH, API 20 E, MICROSCAN, BIOLOG, and CRYSTAL). All the strains were well defined on the basis of biochemical properties investigated with the aid of laboratory-prepared tube tests. The results obtained by the identification kits could not be correctly interpreted. Commercial diagnostic kits should include the reference data necessary for the identification of new Citrobacter species.

Background: Strain Cyp38S was isolated as an endophyte from the plant Cyperus alternifolius, collected along the banks of the River Nile in 2019. Preliminary analysis tentatively identified Cyp38S as belonging to the genus Pseudocitrobacter.
Methods: The preliminary identification of Cyp38S was performed using the VITEK2 identification system, MALDI-TOF-MS, and 16S rRNA gene sequencing.
Background: Metallo-beta lactamase resistance is one of the carbapenem resistances that worsen the world nowadays. A new variant of carbapenem-resistant has only limited reports from Africa including Ethiopia. This study aimed to determine Metallo -ß- lactamase resistance Gram-negative bacteria in Hawassa University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital January-June 2023.

This study presents the first case in Poland of isolation and molecular identification of the Spironucleus vortens parasite from the digestive tract of diseased ornamental fish belonging to the species discus fish (Symphysodon discus Heckel, 1840). Recently, an increasing percentage of fish submitted for testing to the Department of Biology and Fish Diseases, have been observed that show typical symptoms of hole-in-the-head disease, therefore it is important to have accurate information about this disease. In preparation of this work, two fish were studied.
