Background: Crohn's perianal fistulas (CPF) are difficult to manage and often require multiple interventions. This study aimed to assess the preferences of patients and healthcare professionals (HCPs) for attributes of CPF-related procedures/surgeries to better inform CPF management.

Methods: This US cross-sectional, observational study was conducted via a web-enabled questionnaire (October 2021-January 2022) among patients aged 21-89 years with a self-reported physician diagnosis of CPF (with or without CPF-related surgery experience) and HCPs (gastroenterologists and colorectal surgeons who managed ≥3 patients with CPF in the past 12 months).

Background: Breaking bad news is one of the most difficult tasks for practicing doctors, especially for those working in health care specialties where life-threatening diseases are diagnosed and managed routinely. Our aim was to elicit the knowledge and practices of doctors and identify barriers faced by them in disclosure of bad news across the provinces of Pakistan.

Methods: Cross-sectional, multi-centered study supported by an external grant in 15 Government and Private Hospitals across Pakistan.

A 90-year-old man received a diagnosis of ascending aortic pseudoaneurysms after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) using an Evolut PRO valve (Medtronic). Plug closure of the pseudoaneurysms was successfully performed, and the symptoms improved after the procedure. However, on postoperative day 4, the patient experienced sudden massive hemoptysis and died.

Esophageal carcinoma cuniculatum is a rare histology and can be difficult to diagnose prior to resection. To date, there have been 28 cases of resected esophageal carcinoma cuniculatum reported. Herein we describe a case found in the stomach of a patient who previously underwent a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery.
