Purpose: To assess the reproducibility of one-, two-, and three-dimensional measurements of the size of liver metastases.
Materials And Methods: The sizes of 10 liver metastases were determined 200 times: Ten observers measured each lesion by using images obtained at two different CT studies and with five different measurement techniques (maximum diameter, product of diameters, area, volume, and product of three diameters). They repeated each measurement in a separate session. The influence of measurement technique and lesion type (size and morphologic appearance) on measurement reproducibility was assessed.
Results: Three-dimensional measurements proved to be as reproducible as one- and two-dimensional measurements. Measurement reproducibility was influenced mainly by the size (P < .0001) and morphologic appearance (P < .01) of the lesions.
Conclusion: Three-dimensional size measurements obtained with spiral CT are reproducible and could therefore replace the two-dimensional measurements of tumor size currently obtained with follow-up CT studies.

Objective: Currently, nasolabial folds are mainly removed by invasive procedures, resulting in long-lasting changes, as non-surgical user-implementable alternatives are scarce and inefficient. For example, the use of coating films for this purpose has thus far faced substantial difficulties because such films should combine the antithetical properties of shrinkability and flexibility. Herein, we challenge this status quo by identifying a polymer that simultaneously exhibits shrinkability and flexibility and using this polymer to develop a cosmetic formulation for immediate and non-invasive nasolabial fold removal.

Three-dimensional (3D) measurements extracted from beef carcass images were used to predict the weight of four saleable meat yield (SMY) traits (total SMY and the SMY of the forequarter, flank, and hindquarter) and four primal cuts (sirloin, ribeye, topside and rump). In landfill leachates containing complex dissolved organic matter (DOM), the link between individual DOM constituents and their inherent oxidizability is unclear. Here, we resolved the molecular signatures of DOM oxidized by OH/O using FT-ICR MS, thereby elucidating their oxidizability and resistance in concentrated leachates. The comprehensive gradual fragmentation of complex leachate DOM was then revealed through a modified machine-learning framework based on 43 key pathways during ozonation.

When rendering the visual scene for near-eye head-mounted displays, accurate knowledge of the geometry of the displays, scene objects, and eyes is required for the correct generation of the binocular images.
