Background: Intravascular injection of liquid adhesive hemostats is a rare but serious complication that can result in cerebral thromboembolism.

Observations: A 64-year-old female underwent orbitozygomatic craniotomy for posterior communicating artery aneurysm clipping with the routine use of a flowable hemostatic agent during extradural dissection. After placement of the aneurysm clip, flow was confirmed through the parent vessel and nearby branches.

Secondary Coordination Effects of Adjacent Metal Center in Metal-Nitrogen-Carbon Improve Scaling Relation of Oxygen Electrocatalysis.

J Phys Chem Lett

January 2025

Hefei National Research Center for Physical Sciences at the Microscale, School of Chemistry and Materials Science, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, Anhui 230026, China.

Heterogenous single-atom catalysts (SACs) are reminiscent of homogeneous catalysts because of the similarity of structural motif of active sites, showing the potential of using the advantage of homogeneous catalysts to tackle challenges in hetereogenous catalysis. In heterogeneous oxygen electrocatalysis, the homogeneity of adsorption patterns of reaction intermediates leads to scaling relationships that limit their activities. In contrast, homogeneous catalysts can circumvent such limits by selectively altering the adsorption of intermediates through secondary coordination effects (SCEs).

Introduction: Small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the urinary tract (SCNEC-URO) has an inferior prognosis compared to conventional urothelial carcinoma (UC). Here, we evaluate the predictors and patterns of relapse after surgery.

Materials And Methods: We identified a definitive-surgery cohort (n = 224) from an institutional database of patients with cT1-T4NxM0 SCNEC-URO treated in 1985-2021.

Mechanistic Understanding of Dissociated Hydrogen in Cu/CeO-Catalyzed Methanol Synthesis.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

January 2025

School of Physical Science and Technology, ShanghaiTech University, Shanghai 201210, People's Republic of China.

The hydrogen dissociation and spillover mechanism on oxide-supported Cu catalysts play a pivotal role in the hydrogenation of carbon dioxide to methanol. This study investigates the hydrogen spillover mechanism on Cu/CeO catalysts using spectral characterization under high-pressure reaction conditions and density functional theory (DFT) simulations. The research confirms that the Cu sites serve as the initial dissociation points for the hydrogen molecules.

Efficacy, safety, and quality of life of dabrafenib plus trametinib treatment in Chinese patients with mutation-positive metastatic non-small cell lung cancer.

Transl Lung Cancer Res

December 2024

Department of Medical Oncology, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China, Guangdong Provincial Clinical Research Center for Cancer, Guangzhou, China.

Background: Dabrafenib plus trametinib (Dab + Tram) is an approved targeted therapy in patients with mutated metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Here, we report the efficacy, safety, and quality of life (QoL) results of Dab + Tram treatment in Chinese patients with mutation-positive metastatic NSCLC.

Methods: This is a single-arm, open-label, multicentre, phase II study (NCT04452877).
