Introduction: The case of a patient originated from Angola who presented subcutaneous and neurologic cysticercosis is reported.
Observation: The patient was referred for the etiological diagnosis of recurrent seizures. The diagnosis was made by histologic examination of a subcutaneous lesion.
Comments: We review the clinical characteristics of subcutaneous cysticercosis. The association of subcutaneous nodules and signs of central nervous involvement occurring in a patient originating from an area where cysticercosis is endemic, must be suspected of cysticercosis.

Background: Cysticercosis, a parasitic infection caused by the larval stages of the pork tapeworm, Taenia solium, predominantly affects cerebral and ocular tissues. The subcutaneous manifestation of this disease is a relatively uncommon clinical occurrence. Previously very few or no cases of cysticercosis presenting as subcutaneous solitary painful swelling have been reported in the literature.

Disseminated cysticercosis (DCC), which is characterized by widespread cysticerci in various tissues, is rare and often asymptomatic. Here, we report the case of a 50-year-old man from rural Nepal with distal cholangiocarcinoma and DCC involving the skin, brain, orbit, tongue, soft palate, heart, and abdominal organs.
