Establishment and Validation of a Machine-Learning Prediction Nomogram Based on Lymphocyte Subtyping for Intra-Abdominal Candidiasis in Septic Patients.

Clin Transl Sci

January 2025

Department of Critical Care Medicine, State Key Laboratory of Complex Severe and Rare Diseases, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Science and Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, China.

This study aimed to develop and validate a nomogram based on lymphocyte subtyping and clinical factors for the early and rapid prediction of Intra-abdominal candidiasis (IAC) in septic patients. A prospective cohort study of 633 consecutive patients diagnosed with sepsis and intra-abdominal infection (IAI) was performed. We assessed the clinical characteristics and lymphocyte subsets at the onset of IAI.

Integrating bioinformatics and machine learning to identify AhR-related gene signatures for prognosis and tumor microenvironment modulation in melanoma.

Front Immunol

Division of Child Healthcare, Department of Pediatrics, Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China.

Background: The Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor (AhR) pathway significantly influences immune cell regulation, impacting the effectiveness of immunotherapy and patient outcomes in melanoma. However, the specific downstream targets and mechanisms by which AhR influences melanoma remain insufficiently understood.

Methods: Melanoma samples from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and normal skin tissues from the Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) database were analyzed to identify differentially expressed genes, which were intersected with a curated list of AhR-related pathway genes.

Background And Aim: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is characterized by complex immunological interactions involving CD4 T cell subsets and the NLRP3 inflammasome, which influence inflammatory responses. This investigation focused on delineating the activation profiles of these components and their correlation with disease severity and activity, assessing their diagnostic implications in UC.

Methods: We conducted immunohistochemistry and ELISA assays to measure markers expression of CD4 T cell subsets and the NLRP3 inflammasome in UC patients versus controls.

Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a common allergic inflammatory disease that affects the upper respiratory tract. Although previous research suggests a potential association between gut microbiota alterations and AR, the causal relationship remains unclear. This study employs Mendelian randomization (MR) to reduce confounding factors and reverse causality.

The impact of anti-Spike monoclonal antibody (mAbs) treatment on the immune response of COVID19-patients is poorly explored. In particular, a comparison of the immunological influence of different therapeutic regimens has not yet been performed. Aim of the study was to compare the kinetic of innate and adaptive immune response as well as the SARS-CoV-2 specific humoral and T cell response in two groups of SARS-CoV-2-infected patients treated with two different mAbs regimens: Bamlanivimab/Etesevimab (BAM/ETE) or Casirivimab/Imdevimab (CAS/IMD).
