Objectives: This study aimed to establish a reproducible and minimally invasive rat model of temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis (TMJ-OA) using intra-articular monoiodoacetic acid (MIA) injection, and to investigate the pathological mechanisms underlying TMJ-OA development, aimed at providing insights for potential clinical treatments.
Design: We compared the effects of single versus multiple MIA injections on body weight, pain behaviour, and condylar pathology in female Sprague-Dawley rats. We longitudinally assessed the progression of TMJ-OA over 5 weeks by evaluating condylar pathology and immunohistochemical staining.

Introduction: Fetal growth restriction (FGR) is a common pregnancy complication with significant impact on obstetric and birth outcomes. Increasing evidence shows that the inhibition of placental mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling is closely related to FGR. However, the pathogenesis of FGR is not fully consistent presently, which is subject to the methodological divergence.

Background: Human Immunodeficiency Viruses (HIV) infected people are at increased chance of immunocompromission. In combination with this immunocompromission, the incidence of co-infection with intestinal parasites, intestinal protozoal and Helicobacter pylori can be escalated by different factors including similar mode of transmission, poor economic status, synergistic pathogenesis, and geographic topography of more than two organisms. A large number of world population is either affected or at risk of infection from diversified intestinal parasites, intestinal protozoal and H.

Objectives: Tanshinone IIA (Tan IIA) exhibits therapeutic potential for atherosclerosis (AS) and hepatic steatosis (HS). The study aims to explore the mechanisms underlying the anti-atherosclerosis and anti-hepatic steatosis effects of Tan IIA.
Methods: The LDLRmice were divided into control, model, low/high Tan IIA and atorvastatin group, which fed with High-fat diet to build NAFLD-associated AS model, then administrated with 0.

Background: The Active Ingredient Composition of Jinshui Huanxian Formula (ECC-JHF) consists of five active ingredients: icariin, isoliquiritigenin, nobiletin, peimine, and paeoniflorin, which demonstrate notable therapeutic effects on pulmonary fibrosis.
Purpose: Inhibition of glycolysis has been demonstrated to be effective in treating experimental idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). This research seeks to explore the impact of aerobic glycolysis on the mitigation of pulmonary fibrosis through ECC-JHF.
