More than a century of research shows that spaced learning improves long-term memory. However, there remains debate concerning why that is. A major limitation to resolving theoretical debates is the lack of evidence for how neural representations change as a function of spacing.

Pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) are emerging contaminants (ECs), whose presence in the environment is of increasing concern due to their widespread use and possible detrimental effects on wildlife and humans. These chemicals may present multiple hazardous properties such as environmental persistence, toxicity, high mobility, and the potential for bioaccumulation. In this study, extended bibliographic research was conducted to characterize the removal efficiency (RE) of PPCPs in wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) considering different technologies.

Sleep disturbance (SD) in the second half of the night due to inflammatory pain was included in the 2009 ASAS classification criteria of Spondyloarthritis (SpA), even though its definition is uncertain. We aimed to investigate SD in early-SpA (e-SpA) patients at T1 (2010-2013), comparing them to long-term SpA (l-SpA) patients at T2 (2023-2024) after at least 10 years of follow-up. At T1, in e-SpA and l-SpA cases, SD, classified as "difficulty in initiating sleep" (DIS), "difficulty in maintaining sleep" (DMS) and "early awakening" (EA), was compared to clinical parameters (ASDAS-CRP, BASDAI, m-HAQ-S, BASMI, MASES, 68/66 joint count, tenderness of sacroiliac joints, fatigue [FACIT] and HADS for anxiety [A] and depression [D]).

Normal tissue reactions vary significantly among patients receiving the same radiation treatment regimen, reflecting the multifactorial etiology of late radiation toxicity. Predicting late radiation toxicity is crucial, as it aids in the initial decision-making process regarding the treatment modalities. For patients undergoing radiotherapy, anticipating late toxicity allows for planning adjustments to optimize individualized care.

(1) Background: Volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) can deliver more accurate dose distribution and reduce radiotherapy-induced toxicities for postoperative cervical and endometrial cancer. This study aims to retrospectively analyze the relationship between dosimetric parameters of organs at risk (OARs) and acute toxicities and provide suggestions for the dose constraints. (2) Methods: A total of 164 postoperative cervical and endometrial cancer patients were retrospectively analyzed, and the endpoints were grade ≥ 2 acute urinary toxicity (AUT) and acute lower gastrointestinal toxicity (ALGIT).
