ECG Patterns of Occlusion Myocardial Infarction: A Narrative Review.

Ann Emerg Med

January 2025

Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN; Department of Emergency Medicine, Hennepin Healthcare, Minneapolis, MN.

The traditional management of acute coronary syndrome has relied on the identification of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) as a proxy of acute coronary occlusion. This conflation of STEMI with acute coronary occlusion has historically overshadowed non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI), despite evidence suggesting 25% to 34% of NSTEMI cases may also include acute coronary occlusion. Current limitations in the STEMI/NSTEMI binary framework underscore the need for a revised approach to chest pain and acute coronary syndrome management.

Evaluation of a Deep Learning Denoising Algorithm for Dose Reduction in Whole-Body Photon-Counting CT Imaging: A Cadaveric Study.

Acad Radiol

January 2025

Department of Radiology, University Hospital Tuebingen, Hoppe-Seyler-Str. 3, 72076 Tuebingen, Germany (R.D., J.M.B., B.S., J.M., S.G., P.K., S.W., J.H., K.N., S.A., A.B.).

Rationale And Objectives: Photon Counting CT (PCCT) offers advanced imaging capabilities with potential for substantial radiation dose reduction; however, achieving this without compromising image quality remains a challenge due to increased noise at lower doses. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a deep learning (DL)-based denoising algorithm in maintaining diagnostic image quality in whole-body PCCT imaging at reduced radiation levels, using real intraindividual cadaveric scans.

Materials And Methods: Twenty-four cadaveric human bodies underwent whole-body CT scans on a PCCT scanner (NAEOTOM Alpha, Siemens Healthineers) at four different dose levels (100%, 50%, 25%, and 10% mAs).

Plasma D-Dimer Changes and Clinical Value in Acute Lower Extremity Deep Venous Thrombosis Treated with Catheter-Directed Thrombolysis.

J Vasc Surg Venous Lymphat Disord

January 2025

Department of Vascular Surgery, Chenzhou First People's Hospital and the First Affiliated, Hospital of Xiangnan University, Chenzhou, Hunan Province 423000, China. Electronic address:

Objective: This study sought to investigate the changes in plasma D-dimer levels during catheter-directed thrombolysis (CDT) in patients with acute lower extremity deep venous thrombosis (DVT), analyze imaging results, and assess their clinical implications.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 62 patients diagnosed with acute lower extremity DVT who underwent CDT between March 2019 and December 2022. Plasma D-dimer levels were measured before CDT, at regular intervals after CDT, and at the end of CDT.

Introduction: Folate receptors (FR) have been considered a convenient target for different radiopharmaceuticals in recent years. Multifarious Ga-labeled folate conjugates have been proposed as promising agents for the PET imaging of FR-overexpressing malignant neoplasms. In addition, radiolabeled folate-based conjugates can be effective for imaging non-tumor pathological foci characterized by a pronounced cluster of activated macrophages.
