The mode of energy transfer between photosensitizers and oxygen determines the yield of singlet oxygen (O), crucial for photodynamic therapy (PDT). However, the aggregation of photosensitizers promotes electron transfer while inhibiting pure energy transfer, resulting in the generation of the hypotoxic superoxide anion (O) and consumption of substantial oxygen. Herein, we achieve the reduction of the aggregation of photosensitizers to inhibit electron transfer through classical chemical crosslinking, thereby boosting the production of O.

Noble metal nanoparticles have attracted tremendous attention as the promising signal reporters for catalytic-colorimetric lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA). However, it remains great challenges for improving their stability and catalytic activity. Herein, first, a kind of porphyrinic based metal-organic framework (MOF) was used as a carrier for loading platinum (Pt) nanoparticles to avoid its aggregation.

(Hendel) is an invasive fruit and vegetable pest, infesting citrus, mango, carambola, etc. We observed that the posterior thoracic scutella of some adults are yellow, some light yellow, and some white in China. Compared with the races with a yellow scutellum (YS) and white scutellum (WS), the race with a light-yellow scutellum (LYS) is dominant in citrus and carambola orchards.

Salt stress is a significant environmental factor that impedes maize growth and yield. Exogenous 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) has been shown to mitigate the detrimental effects of various environmental stresses on plants. However, its regulatory role in the photosynthesis mechanisms of maize seedlings under salt stress remains poorly understood.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses a critical global health threat, driving the search for alternative treatments to conventional antibiotics. In this study, the antibacterial properties of honeybee venom (BV) and fungal red dye (RD) were evaluated against three multidrug-resistant bacterial pathogens. Extracts of BV and RD exhibited dose-dependent antibacterial activity against the three tested bacteria, with their strongest effectiveness against (minimum inhibitory concentrations [MIC] = 3.
