Background And Aims: Current evidence underscores that oxidative stress (OS) is a pivotal factor in the formation of vulnerable plaques in individuals with coronary heart disease (CHD). The Oxidative Balance Score (OBS), a comprehensive measure of systemic OS, consists of 15 antioxidants and 5 pro-oxidants, with higher scores indicating greater antioxidant activity. We hypothesized that a high OBS would be associated with improved coronary plaque stability in CHD patients.

Background: Observational studies have reported that sleep is associated with the risk of major depressive disorder (MDD) and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). However, the causal relationships among various sleep traits remain contentious, and whether MDD mediates the impact of specific sleep traits on CVDs is unclear.
Methods: We performed two-sample Mendelian randomisation analyses to explore whether insomnia, sleep time, daytime napping, daytime sleepiness, chronotype, snoring or obstructive sleep apnoea were causally associated with the risk of five CVDs, including coronary artery disease (CAD), myocardial infarction (MI), heart failure (HF), atrial fibrillation and stroke.

Background: Catheter ablation is an effective therapy for ventricular tachycardia (VT) and is increasing in use. Assessment of contemporary real-world outcomes of VT ablation requires data inclusive of both inpatient and outpatient encounters.
Objective: To assess factors associated with one-year in-hospital mortality, all-cause readmission, and recurrent readmission for VT following VT ablation, along with the associated costs of care.

Angina pectoris, a primary manifestation of ischemic heart disease, imposes a significant clinical and economic burden globally. This review highlights recent advancements in the management of angina, emphasizing a patient-centred approach that integrates pharmacological, interventional, and lifestyle strategies to reduce cardiovascular risk and improve patient outcomes. For obstructive coronary artery disease, optimal medical therapy represents the cornerstone of treatment.

Background: Previous data suggests dynamic handgrip exercise (DHE) as a potential physiological, needle-free stressor feasible for cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) conditions. DHE-fast Strain-ENCoded imaging (fSENC) is potentially cost-saving, ultra-fast and avoids pharmacological side effects thereby targeting the drawbacks of conventional pharmacological stress CMR.
Objectives: To assess the diagnostic accuracy of DHE-fSENC for detecting ischemia-related wall motion abnormalities in suspected obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD).
