Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is a highly effective therapy for malignant blood illnesses that pose a high risk, as well as diseases that are at risk due to other variables, such as genetics. However, the prevalence of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) has impeded its widespread use. Ensuring the stability of microbial varieties and associated metabolites is crucial for supporting metabolic processes, preventing pathogen intrusion, and modulating the immune system.

Introduction: Acute normovolaemic haemodilution (ANH) is a perioperative blood management technique involving the removal of whole blood and simultaneous infusion of colloids or crystalloids to achieve haemodilution while maintaining normovolaemia. However, its efficacy in reducing the requirement for perioperative allogeneic blood transfusion remains controversial due to inconsistent findings in the literature. An individualised red cell transfusion strategy, guided by the West China Liu's Score, has demonstrated effectiveness in reducing the need for allogeneic red cell transfusion.

Background: The long-term effect of adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (ASCs) to restore radiation-induced salivary gland hypofunction in previous head and neck cancer patients have not been validated in larger settings.
Methods: The study was the 12-months follow-up of a randomised trial, including patients with hyposalivation. Patients were randomised to receive allogeneic ASCs or placebo in the submandibular glands.
Background: Patients with secondary acute myeloid leukemia who previously received hypomethylating agents for prior myeloid neoplasms (HMA-sAML) face a dismal prognosis.
Methods: The authors analyze the characteristics, therapeutic approaches, and outcomes of patients with HMA-sAML from the Programa Español para el Tratamiento de Hemopatías Malignas (PETHEMA) registry.
Results: A total of 479 patients were included, mostly from prior myelodysplastic syndrome (84%).
