Effect of natural food colorings on immunoglobulin production in vitro by rat spleen lymphocytes.

Water-soluble (cacao pigment, cochineal pigment, corn pigment, betanin, carthamus yellow, and monascus pigment) and water-insoluble (gardenia yellow, laccaic acid, bixin, and curcumin) natural colorings inhibited IgE production by rat spleen lymphocytes at 10 and microM, respectively. Although many of these colorings only inhibited the production of IgG and IgM at high concentrations, the water-insoluble colorings enhanced IgM production even at 1 microM. These results suggest that natural colorings have immunoglobulin production-regulating activity.

Erythroderma is a severe and heterogeneous inflammatory skin condition with little guidance on the approach to management in cases of unknown etiology. To guide therapeutic selection, we sought to create an immunophenotyping platform able to identify aberrant cell populations and cytokines in subtypes of erythroderma. We performed high-parameter flow cytometry on peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and whole blood of a patient with refractory idiopathic erythroderma, erythrodermic patients with Sézary syndrome and pityriasis rubra pilaris, and healthy controls.

The objective of this experiment is to investigate the effects of SAP or SAO as ω-3 PUFA raw materials on production performance, egg quality, serum immunity, serum lipids, and fatty acid deposition patterns in the eggs of laying quails. A single-factor design was employed to randomly assign 1288 quails into four treatment groups, with seven replicates per treatment and 46 birds in each replicate.

Antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) by NK cells is a key mechanism in anti-cancer therapies with monoclonal antibodies, including cetuximab (EGFR-targeting) and avelumab (PDL1-targeting). Fc gamma receptor IIIa (FcγRIIIa) polymorphisms impact ADCC, yet their clinical relevance in NK cell functionality remains debated. We developed two complementary flow cytometry assays: one to predict the FcγRIIIa-V158F polymorphism using a machine learning model, and a 15-color flow cytometry panel to assess antibody-induced NK cell functionality and cancer-immune cell interactions.
