Introduction: This case study aimed to investigate a disparity in the medical education pipeline by investigating the impact of fundamental microsurgical training on interest and desire to pursue a career in medicine. This research introduces a method to attract undergraduate students from various backgrounds to the field of microsurgery through a hands-on microsurgical training course.
Methods: Microsurgical training took place 6 hours a week for 6 weeks.

Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a worldwide social problem. The current study explores underlining mechanisms of phenomenon by tying together intergenerational transmission theory, socialization theory, and trauma theory. It learns from men how the father figure shaped by their childhood experiences has contributed to their violence, how the father's socialization to manhood has affected their intimate relations, and how they understand the effect of being exposed to the father's violence on their own intimate relationships and violence.

Plant-soil feedback (PSF), the reciprocal interaction between plants and their soil environment, is a fundamental ecological process that can influence coexistence and functional structure in plant communities. Current theory establishes that PSF may enhance diversity or lead to exclusion depending on whether soil conditioning disproportionately benefits heterospecific or conspecific individuals. However, a more complete picture of the impact of PSF requires understanding how PSF interacts with competition.

Technical skills are an integral part of the practice of medicine. Simulation-based education (SBE) is a widely employed approach that allows students to acquire these skills prior to practicing them in the clinical setting. To discuss the state of SBE and potential avenues to improving education and medical student experiences, this editorial will explore the lived experiences of junior medical students, the observations of a research graduate student's informal conversations, and an educational quality improvement (EQI) pilot conducted by students at a satellite medical campus.

Introduction: Simulation-based training often fails to meet the needs of low- and middle-income countries with limited access to high-cost models. We built on an existing surgical simulation curriculum for medical students in Rwanda and assessed students' experience.
Methods: Based on a contextual simulation-based education curriculum that was piloted in 2022, our team designed and delivered an intensive week-long surgical simulation course for medical students.
