Unlabelled: Haemolysis, elevated liver enzymes and low platelets (HELLP) syndrome is a poorly understood, life-threatening multisystemic condition related to pregnancy with a rapid onset, typically observed in patients with severe pre-eclampsia. Various mechanisms may lead to diffuse endothelial damage associated with HELLP and possible brain involvement. A comprehensive review of PubMed, Embase and Cochrane databases was conducted to examine the clinical, laboratory and radiological features associated with postpartum HELLP syndrome, particularly its potential association with posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES).

Although SVCDs are traditionally palliated using the Norwood pathway, in the last 2 decades select programs have used the hybrid strategy, which redistributes the operative and interstage risks. Background: This study explored the correlation between the 3-dimensional aorto-mitral angle and pressure gradients in patients with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) undergoing septal myectomy, with or without aortic shortening.
Methods: A single-site, retrospective observational study was conducted at a tertiary-level hospital; 67 patients underwent septal myectomy for obstructive HCM. Preoperative and postoperative transesophageal images were analyzed offline to measure the end-systolic 3-dimensional aorto-mitral angle with Mitral Valve Quantification software and Doppler-derived pressure gradients.

The aim of this study was to investigate the risk factors for lower extremity deep venous thrombosis (LEDVT) in a severely traumatized population and to evaluate their predictive value for LEDVT.
Methods: This was a retrospective, single-center observational study.
