Ophthalmologic study covered 100 truck drivers (categories C and E according to International Classification) aged 21 to 50 and with length of service from 2 to 25 years. Comparative evaluation of various methods studying deep and stereoscopic vision proved that professional drivers have high values of deep and stereoscopic vision. Those values appeared to correlate strongly and positively (r = 0.57). Making a decision on adequacy to driving the stated vehicles, experts should prefer simple and informative method studying stereoscopic vision through lens stereoscope with "three circles" table.

Importance: Cochlear implants enable improvements in speech perception, but music perception outcomes remain variable. Image-guided cochlear implant programming has emerged as a potential programming strategy for increasing the quality of spectral information delivered through the cochlear implant to improve outcomes.
Objectives: To perform 2 experiments, the first of which modeled the variance in music perception scores as a function of electrode positioning factors, and the second of which evaluated image-guided cochlear implant programming as a strategy to improve music perception with a cochlear implant.

When rendering the visual scene for near-eye head-mounted displays, accurate knowledge of the geometry of the displays, scene objects, and eyes is required for the correct generation of the binocular images. Despite possible design and calibration efforts, these quantities are subject to positional and measurement errors, resulting in some misalignment of the images projected to each eye. Previous research investigated the effects in virtual reality (VR) setups that triggered such symptoms as eye strain and nausea.

Background: Objective sleep measures obtained from actigraphy (wrist-worn accelerometry) reveal sleep disruption patterns and may serve as indicators of neurodegenerative disease. However, whether individuals' subjective account of their sleep quality corresponds to objective sleep measurements from the previous night is an area little studied. In particular, whether neurodegenerative disease modifies these associations is unknown.

Background: Understanding social, behavioral, and environmental determinants of health (SBEDOH) are key in identifying modifiable risk factors for Alzheimer's Disease and related Dementias (ADRD), particularly the disproportionate burden seen in minorities. However, a lack of standardized SBEDOH methods exists with current methods limited in scope and cultural sensitivity (i.e.

Listening to the voices of people with dementia and understanding their perception of the surrounding world is one of the keys to providing person-centred care in daily practice. The care not only focuses on the specific knowledge and skills but also the proper caring attitude towards dementia. Stigma is still severe in Hong Kong, and the implementation of dementia-inclusive language is not practical due to the lack of education in this aspect.
