The antibodies to the microtubule-associated protein tau play a role in basic and clinical studies of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other tauopathies. With the recombinant human tau441 as the immunogen, the hybridoma cell strains secreting the anti-human tau N-terminal domain (NTD-tau) monoclonal antibodies were generated by cell fusion and screened by limiting dilution. The purified monoclonal antibodies were obtained by inducing the mouse ascites and affinity chromatography.

Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) refers to small fragments of DNA released into the bloodstream by cancer cells. It is obtained through "liquid biopsy;" which most commonly refers to plasma or blood samples, but can be obtained from a number of bodily fluids including ascitic fluid, saliva, and even urine and stool. ctDNA is detected via polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or next-generation sequencing (NGS).

A new method for the determination of cadherin 12 (CDH12)-an adhesive protein that has a significant impact on the development, growth, and movement of cancer cells-was developed and validated. The method is based on a biosensor using surface plasmon resonance imaging (SPRi) detection. A quartz crystal microbalance was used to analyze the characteristics of the formation of successive layers of the biosensor, from the linker monolayer to the final capture of CDH12 from solution.

Background: Calprotectin is a calcium-binding-S100-protein synthetized mainly in neutrophils which has been demonstrated to be an accurate biomarker of the presence of these cells. Gut barrier dysfunction in patients with advanced chronic liver disease (ACLD), in addition to the lack of noninvasive tools for diagnosis and prognosis of cirrhosis decompensations, has raised interest in this biomarker.
Aims: Our aim is to summarize the current evidence regarding the role of calprotectin in terms of its diagnostic and prognostic utility in ACLD.

Endometriosis is a chronic disease in which the endometrium cells are located outside the uterine cavity. The aim of this study was to evaluate circulating 20S proteasome and 20S immunoproteasome levels in plasma and peritoneal fluid in women with and without endometriosis in order to assess their usefulness as biomarkers of disease. Concentrations were measured using surface plasmon resonance imaging biosensors.
