Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), including obstructive HCM and non-obstructive HCM, can lead to sudden cardiac arrest in adolescents and athletes. Early diagnosis and treatment through auscultation of different types of HCM can prevent the occurrence of malignant events. However, it is challenging to distinguish the pathological information of HCM related to differential left ventricular outflow tract pressure gradients.

Our case report characterizes a rare presentation of mid-ventricular Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TTC) in a patient with suspected myocarditis as an underlying cause. Mid-ventricular TTC is a rare variant of TTC presenting with overlapping symptoms and physical exam findings of acute coronary syndrome, which often leads to misdiagnosis as myocardial infarction. Our case is of a 77-year-old female patient with a history of hyperlipidemia, right breast ductal carcinoma in situ, and diverticular disease who presented to the emergency department for evaluation of chest pain radiating to the jaw with associated nausea and vomiting.

Background: Data on the incidence of infective endocarditis (IE) in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is sparse. This study evaluated a HCM cohort with aim to study the incidence of IE in these patients.
Methods: All patients entering the HCM cohort from May 2003 to June 2022 of a tertiary care hospital with at least one follow-up visit were included and followed up till June 2023.
