Establishing the causal links between biomarkers and cancer enhances understanding of risk factors and facilitates the discovery of therapeutic targets. To this end, we used Mendelian randomization (MR) and colocalization analysis to explore the causal relationship of blood and urinary biomarkers (BUBs) with urological cancers (UCs). First, we used a two-sample MR study to explore the causal relationship between 33 BUBs and 4 UCs, while we performed reverse Mendelian randomization.

Objective: To determine the seasonal differences in instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) and objective physical activity among older adults residing in non-urban areas in snowy and cold regions according to sex.
Patients And Methods: Fifty older adults aged ≥65 years were included in the present study. IADL was assessed using the revised Frenchay Activities Index (FAI), and physical activity was measured using a triaxial accelerometer.

Background: Heart failure (HF) is a common and deadly disease, precipitated by physical inactivity and sedentary behavior. Although the 1-year survival rate after the first diagnosis is high, physical inactivity and sedentary behavior are associated with increased mortality and negatively impact the health-related quality of life (HR-QoL).
Objective: We tested the recruitment frequency, implementation fidelity, and feasibility of outcomes of the Activity Coach app that was developed using an existing mobile health (mHealth) tool, Optilogg, to support older adults with HF to be more physically active and less sedentary.

Atmospheric fine particulate matter (PM) is the main contributor to Pb accumulation in edible Chinese cabbage leaves in North China. PM-Pb primarily enters leaves via stomatal foliar uptake. However, how PM-Pb is transported and stored within the leaf cells of Chinese cabbage remains unclear.

Ovarian cancer (OC) must be detected in its early stages when the mortality rate is the lowest to provide patients with the best chance of survival. Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) is a critical OC biomarker since its levels are elevated across all stages and increase with disease progression. This paper presents an LPA assay based on a thickness shear mode acoustic sensor with dissipation monitoring that involves a new thiol molecule 3-(2-mercaptoethanoxy)propanoic acid (HS-MEG-COOH).
