DNase I hypersensitive sites in chromatin of eukaryotic cells mark the positions of multifactorial cis-acting elements. Mapping DH sites by indirect end labeling is a convenient procedure used for identifying regulatory elements within extensive regions of chromatin and for gaining information about their functional specificity as well as their fine structure.

We identified a CXCXCPXC motif and 11 CLG genes that regulate epidermal development by interacting with homeodomain leucine-zipper IV family proteins in Arabidopsis. Zinc finger proteins (ZFPs), the key regulators of plant growth and development, can be categorized based on the sequence patterns of zinc finger motifs. Here, by aligning the amino acid sequences of CFL1, AtCFL1, AtCFL2, GIRl, and GIR2, we identified the CXCXCPXC motif in their C-terminus, which differs from all the previously characterized canonical zinc finger motifs.

DEK is a chromatin protein that interacts with DNA to influence chromatin formation, thereby affecting plant growth, development, and stress response. This study investigates the molecular evolution of the DEK family in plants, with a particular focus on the Brassica species. A total of 127 DEK genes were identified in 34 plants and classified into seven groups based on the phylogenetic analysis.

Some members of the SELF PRUNING (SP) gene family have been shown to play critical roles in developmental processes and stress responses across a wide range of plant species. The study identifies 13 members that can be divided into three subfamilies based on evolutionary analysis. Cis-Acting element analysis of the promoter regions indicated the presence of numerous stress- and hormone-responsive elements in the SlSP family.
