DNA associated with nuclear envelopes was isolated from rat liver nuclear lysate using centrifugation in sucrose gradient. The specific radioactivity of DNA obtained in nuclear envelope was compared with that of overall nuclear DNA at different stages of the S-period after partial hepatectomy and 1-15 min following intravenous injection of 3H-thymidine. It was found that at various steps of the cell cycle (19, 24 and 27 hrs following partial hepatectomy) the specific radioactivities of nuclear membrane-linked and overall nuclear DNAs do not show any significant differences. No noticeable selective synthesis or initiation of DNA replication on the nuelear envelope were observed either.

Introduction: This study investigates the inter-related roles of hippocampal neuronal loss (HNL), limbic-predominant age-related TAR-DNA binding protein of 43 kDa (TDP-43) encephalopathy neuropathologic changes (LATE-NC), and Alzheimer's disease neuropathologic changes (ADNC) on cognitive decline.

Methods: Participants underwent annual cognitive testing and autopsy. HNL, ADNC, LATE-NC, and other age-related pathologies were evaluated.

Epigenetic Impacts of Non-Coding Mutations Deciphered Through Pre-Trained DNA Language Model at Single-Cell Resolution.

DNA methylation plays a critical role in gene regulation, affecting cellular differentiation and disease progression, particularly in non-coding regions. However, predicting the epigenetic consequences of non-coding mutations at single-cell resolution remains a challenge. Existing tools have limited prediction capacity and struggle to capture dynamic, cell-type-specific regulatory changes that are crucial for understanding disease mechanisms.

Accessible and non-invasive biomarkers that measure human ageing processes and the risk of developing age-related disease are paramount in preventative healthcare. Here, we describe a novel framework to train saliva-based DNA methylation (DNAm) biomarkers that are reproducible and biologically interpretable. By leveraging a reliability dataset with replicates across tissues, we demonstrate that it is possible to transfer knowledge from blood DNAm to saliva DNAm data using DNAm proxies of blood proteins (EpiScores).

Aims: Subareolar sclerosing ductal hyperplasia (SSDH) is a distinct type of complex sclerosing hyperplastic lesion first described by Rosen in 1987. There have been rare studies investigating SSDH; however, no genetic study has been performed to date.

Methods And Results: Seven SSDH cases, diagnosed between 2013 and 2024, were identified.

Carboxyl terminal modulator protein (CTMP) may be involved in various physiological and pathological processes, such as inflammation, tumor growth, and cardiac hypertrophy. Our recent study has shown that CTMP is increased with aging and plays a role in determining brain ischemic tolerance. However, it is not known how CTMP expression with aging is regulated and whether the changed CTMP expression has an effect on cell senescence.
