Successful penetrating keratoplasty depends on both host- and donor-related factors. We compared the results of keratoplasty in a group with a wide range of donor ages to gauge the effect of donor age on graft success. We conducted a retrospective review of donor data, recipient age, preoperative diagnosis, and postoperative complications with respect to graft clarity at 24 months after surgery in 99 consecutive patients in an effort to determine the role of donor age in graft clarity. The only factors that we isolated that appeared to influence graft clarity at 24 months postoperatively were a preoperative diagnosis classified as inflammatory/traumatic and the occurrence of postoperative complications. There was no association between graft clarity and recipient age, donor age, death-to-preservation time, or preservation-to-surgery time.

Objectives: Benign and malignant intraosseous schwannomas are rare, and primarily documented in case reports. This study aims to elucidate the differences in clinical features and imaging manifestations between these tumors. This will help clinicians identify malignant lesions at an early stage, reliable guide treatment decisions, and accurately predict outcomes.

Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) offers potential support in patient-clinician interactions, but its impact on such communication remains unexplored.
Methods: In this study, ChatGPT was compared with two pancreatic surgeons in responding to ten pancreatic cancer surgery-related questions, co-designed with the Patient Advisory Board of the Surgical Society's Study Center. A blind evaluation of these responses, considering content congruency and clarity for non-specialists, was conducted by patients and surgeons.

A female patient in her middle childhood who was initially referred to us with congenital glaucoma was later diagnosed with congenital hereditary endothelial dystrophy. Due to progressive corneal thickening and haze, Descemet's stripping endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK) was performed consecutively in both her eyes. Postoperative follow-ups included evaluations of corneal thickness, intraocular pressure and disc assessment.

Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of ab-interno canaloplasty (ABiC) for managing intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients following keratoplasty over a three-year period.
Methods: This retrospective analysis focused on post-keratoplasty patients treated with ABiC with the iTrack microcatheter (Nova Eye Medical, Fremont, CA, USA) at a single institution. The study assessed the procedure's impact on IOP control, graft survival, and reliance on topical hypotensive medications, with additional observation for any postoperative complications.
