There is a plethora of studies documenting the association between psychosocial disadvantage and epilepsy but a paucity of studies explaining the precise nature of that relationship. Previous studies have been hampered by methodological problems including small sample size and selection bias. This study examined the aetiology of psychopathology in epilepsy in a cross-sectional community study. A significant proportion of patients were anxious and depressed and many reported side effects of their medication. Stepwise multiple regression techniques were employed to examine the relationship between clinical, demographic and psychosocial variables. Results indicated that psychosocial variables were the best predictors of each other but when these were taken into account, patient perceived seizure severity was an important predictor variable in understanding the relationship between epilepsy and psychosocial functioning.

Background: Children and adolescents with cerebral palsy (CP) commonly have behaviour problems. The present study aimed to determine which of the most common clinical features experienced by children and adolescents with CP and intellectual disability are associated with behaviour problems.
Method: We investigated 11 possible associated variables including epilepsy, visual and hearing impairments, motor difficulties, communication and speech difficulties, pain, sleep disturbance, executive function (EF) deficits, type of CP, and parent stress.

People with epilepsy (PWE) are at higher risk of psychiatric disorders (PD), disability, and reduced quality of life than the general population, especially in childhood and adolescence and when seizures originate from the temporal lobe. Temporal Lobe Epilepsy (TLE) is the most common type of focal epilepsy and can be due to structural abnormalities, or non-lesional causes, such as genetic variants. The prevalence of PD is approximately 20%-30% in people with epilepsy in general, and from 40% up to 80% in people with TLE.

Objectives: Previous research has linked epilepsy of the temporal lobe (TLE) with comorbidities of psychiatric nature, yet few studies have investigated personality psychopathology in patients with TLE. This is the first study on the topic in the Arab world and the first study using the Personality Inventory for DSM-5-Brief From (PID-5-BF). Thus, this study, which is cross-sectional by nature, aims to explore the potential relationship between TLE and personality psychopathology.

Objective: Syncope is defined as a spontaneous and transient loss of consciousness and postural tone due to brief and reversible cerebral hypoperfusion. This review aimed to summarize the research findings regarding the psychological correlates associated with pediatric syncope. Moreover, the study aimed to deepen the understanding of the relationship between psychological disorders and the onset of syncopal episodes in childhood, focusing on clinical features and different clinical classifications.
