Purpose: Prediction of the early treatment response is important in neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). Hence, we aimed to test if non-invasive measurements of the retinal vascular structure were able to predict a successful outcome of initial intravitreal treatment.
Methods: In 58 eyes of 58 patients with treatment-naïve nAMD, advanced markers of retinal vascular structure were measured by Singapore I Vessel Assessment prior to initial intravitreal treatment with three monthly injections of aflibercept with subsequently categorization of patients as full treatment responders (FTR) or non/partial treatment responders (N/PR), with the former defined as loosing fewer than five Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study letters and having no residual intra- or subretinal fluid or macular haemorrhage.
Background This study examined the association between ideal cardiovascular health ( CVH ) and the retinal microvasculature in midadulthood. Methods and Results The Cardiovascular Risk in Young Finns Study included children from 5 Finnish University cities, who were chosen randomly from the national population register. Participants ranged from 12 to 18 years in childhood (1986) and from 37 to 43 years in midadulthood (2011).

Purpose: To examine associations between retinal vascular geometry (tortuosity, branching coefficient [BC] and length-diameter ratio [LDR]) and diabetic proliferative retinopathy (PDR), nephropathy, and peripheral neuropathy in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM).
Methods: A cohort of patients with T1DM participated in a clinical examination in 2011. Blood and urine analyses were done and retinal images taken.

Changes in retinal geometric parameters predict risk and progression of diabetic retinopathy (DR). We have shown that vitamin D deficiency (VDD) is associated with DR. We hypothesized that VDD mediates changes in retinal geometric parameters.

Purpose: Changes in retinal vascular parameters have been shown to be associated with systemic vascular diseases. In this study, we assessed the physiologic variations in retinal vascular measurements during the cardiac cycle.
Methods: Fundus images were taken using electrocardiogram-synchronized retinal camera at nine distinct cardiac points from 15 healthy volunteers (135 images).
